SMK prototype 1/35 kit bash

Hi Guys

Been working on other projects so only just managed to get back to the SMK. I've just been over the whole model with a thinned wash of AK dust effects, trying to build up a layer of dust particularly around hatches etc...

This was a fairly subtle layer with plenty more layers to go yet, yet another case of waiting for it to dry!

Thanks for looking

You are really moving along with this. You'll have time to build five more at this rate. ;) Good work!

Hi Guys

Finished the weathering on this behemoth with some AK pigments and this ones all wrapped up! This was a fun project, one I didn't know whether I would be able to pull off so I'm glad I made it work. I learned some new things and managed to make something unusual so I'm very happy with the result, and it fits the prototype theme!

Looking really good there.

Though, if you don't mind me saying it, I think it could do with a bit more weathering and some decals. It's a big beast and there's a lot of green with hardly any contrast.

Thanks f2k, I know exactly what you're saying. The problem is that the real tank never had any markings and, unlike other mass production tanks where you get a bit of creative licence, this is a one off. Also you can add interest on other tanks with on board tools, stowage, etc... again this example had none of that. I've tried to make the weathering interesting without going ott but I'll have a think if I could add any more. As you say it is a big beast in a single colour but I've alreadu weathered it heavier than the original.

Thanks for your input though, always appreciated!

Wow. Not only that you converted kits in to this one, with a lot of scratch building but you also managed to paint it already. Man that's impressive.
Cheers

This little monster is really impressive.
I love the scratch built you did here getting the kits seamlessly together.
Great built!
Cheers
Klaus
