I'm beginning to wonder about the building aspect of this hobby.
Is it about building the kit or building the stash?
There was a recent garage sale by a member of my local IPMS club, he's reached the point where he can no longer build which is very sad, but he was selling off several years of old and new kits. I beleive the total was in excess of 3,000 kits.

I'd say in his case the point was the latter. I mean assuming you can start-to-finish a kit in a month (I cannot) and you have 3K kits, it will take 250 years to finish those.

Arrived today, very excited by this kit as it's a "What if" so my choice of options for paint scheme etc are widened and narrowing the opportunity for anyone to offer their tuppence worth berate me and tell me I'm wrong in how I've painted it.
Just watched Mojo Rising Modelling's build videos on YouTube and he has also decided to not stick to the marking scheme options in the box.

Me too, returned to the hobby in 2023 having to start from scratch after 38 years. I've bought pretty much everything I need (including about 10 airbrushes) or should I say I think I need after watching hundreds of build videos, reviews on youTube, forums etc. My stash is now over 60 kits and only just about to finish my first model...

Interesting :) Reading the article, I thought he might be turning it into a flight simulator, but apparently he wants to donate it to a museum instead.
