Road of Life

Thanks for the comments guys, I must admit im enjoying this build, ive been doing another project today but am itching to get back to this one!

Hi Guys

Not had too much time for modelling, what with Xmas shopping and other projects!

I have started on the figure painting now with the standing soldier and the driver and front passenger. I also did a bit more refinging to the whitewash

Hi Guys

Been frustating this week, Ive had very little time to model, but hers what I did manage

I made a blanket for the bonnet (hood!) from green stuff to keep the engine warm in the wintery conditions!
I cut a template then rolled the GS out , cut it to shape and added a stiched seam around the edge with the tip of my scalpel and layed it over the truck to get the shape

Once this was dry I took it off and painted and detailed it

I have also been adding the snow to my base, which was done with Deluxe materials scenic snow. This is a really easy to use product, you just brush on the very thin glue that comes with the kit, sprinkle on the snow, let dry and repeat! I wanted a deepish layer so I just kept adding and adding until I was happy.

looking quality like the jacket and the snow looks real nice will have to look into getting my self some

Thanks Gee

Yeah it works really well, not cheap but It should do quite a few models.

Looks like I'll have to do a few more winter scenes!

This is really taking shape. What is the green stuff you are using for the blanket and wardrobe adjustments?

Erik

Thanks Erik

The green stuff is really called Green Stuff! Its a 2 part epoxy putty that is also sold under the brand name Kneadatite, but I just found it easily by calling it Green Stuff.

Its really cheap and will hold fine detail well.

Hi Again

Got a bit more done this weekend, I finished the details on the truck added the stowage and weathered the running gear and wheels up with the scenic snow. I have also just fixed the truck to the base.
