OOB Review Tamiya 1/72 North American P-51D Mustang

Even though the box says Tamiya, this isn't actually a Tamiya kit at heart, but actually an Italeri kit reboxed by Tamiya for the Japanese market, and in the process some have made it over to North America

Tamiya doesn't actually manufacture any aircraft in 1/72 themselves, most of their 1/72 line are reboxed Italeri kits.

Now that doesn't meen that they aren't good kits, but usually don't have the same "shake n bake" build quality that Tamiya manufactured kits have.

Actually, in the case of the 1/72 P-51, F4U, and P-47, they are Tamiya toolings. Shrunken versions of their 1/48 offerings. They are also some of the best in 1/72. However, the rest tend to be Italeri as stated.

Good news! I just picked up the FU4....

Hey Austin, there are two different sets of exhausts. One shrouded, one not. Different planes had different exhausts.
