This is a build I did for a friend who is a big Star Wars fan. This was my first time ever lighting a kit (as well as working with any type of electrical wiring) and creating a custom base. There was a lot of learning experiences from this project that I will take with me moving forward. A significant amount of trial an error, wiring and rewiring, and an innumerable amount of fit issues with the kits themselves made this a much larger undertaking than I had originally thought. However, I am quite please with the results. Thank for looking! :)

Man, you really did a great job with that X Wing kit - it's a rough one.

Interceptor looks great too. That's a pretty decent kit in the first place.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. This build was a lot of firsts, but the results was way past my original expectation. I've learned so much from each of you over the last two years and every bit of it was in these kits.

@Scott. That x-wing kit is a beast. I think I trimmed off all of the registry pins with the exception of those on the canopy to get that thing to fit properly. The tie goes together well, but is lacking much of the detail that the studio model has, so I attempted to scratch some of it.

@Grendels. I used both yours and modelman tom's YouTube tutorials for lighting, so thank you.

excellent work on this two 31 years old model kits !

Bravo ! :D

What a great build, I love the lighting....even R2...amazing

The base looks soooo cool, when you look at the finished build it just says ROTJ

J

Thanks guys!

Youli: I hadn't thought of the fact that they were that old! I just remembered having them when I was growing up. How the time flies.

Jaitea: I know some may disagree, but ROTJ is my favorite of the three. And with the tie interceptor in there, there is no better way to display it I think.

Jake: I appreciate it. It was my first ever custom base and when I started I didn't know there were pre-made Death Star tiles you could buy. All in all I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Looking very good. You did a great job with that POS snap x-wing (raised panel lines, ugg).
