... while reading up on the SAS and LRDG, I came across references to training in Lebanon, and that started me digging.
I hadn't ever looked into the interwar period, after T.E. Lawrence had made his spectacular appearance in the mid east.
Low and behold, I trip on some photos of the Black Watch in Palestine, ostensibly there to keep the peace and put down any 'local' rebellions.
And smack in the middle, a Morris CS8!

Out of the stash it came, I knew it was in Egypt in the 40s, but here, earlier, already in service to king and country!

Way outta my comfort zone, but no turning back!

My bench starting to look like a dentist's office!

Figures recruited, heads exchanged, new kit to reflect the year, 1937, Pith helmets, poms and ribbons of the Black Watch.

the poms are tufts cut from microfibre cloth, straps and ribbons in the socks are self adhesive copper foil I sourced at local stained glass studio!

you can cut it, you can shape it, you can glue it, you can paint it, you can pass it through PE buckles!

Relative newbie -- just started posting 8 years worth of intermittent builds last December.
There are a few more, then my build posts will be more real- time! :)
I got retired years ago. Before that, I managed to finish one kit, a 1/72 P-39, from Revel. I call it "The Test Bed" because I tried out every new technique I read about in the preceding 20 odd years. I've since finished two, working on a third.

I admire your patience!

I can take my time, but I guess after years of working in production environments with project managers breathing down my neck, I developed a certain pace... fast enough to get it done, careful enough to feel I cared, difficult enough to feel I learned something.

Keep on, keep on!
