And for the first time I thought I would give oil colours a go, I really like the outcome with the discoloration, I'm learning alot of new techniques with this model!

I'v got a question though guys once I let the oil colours dry over 24 hours will I then be able to dull coat it again? (humbrol acrylic) It wont effect the oil paint?
and since panzerace007 started it I thought I'd add what music's been playing through the build! ;)
Alice in Chains It Ain't Like That

JOHN,

Glad to see you survived th DownLoad Festival !! You are gonna want to let your Oil Paint dry for about 4-5 days .. to be safe. Then you can shoot some Dulcote on it & you'll be good to go. It just takes a while for th Oil Paint to dry .. that's th only down side to it. & shootin' it with a Hair Dryer has no effect either.

Great Lookin Jagd-Tiger !! Did you decide to ditch th Fenders ?

\m/

Thanks for the comments panzer and q, didnt manage to get away to the festival this weekend but it meant I got some modeling done! Eric what colours should the axe/shovel/hammer heads be? silver/grey/gun metal/red? I want to show some wear and tear so I was going to go a dark silver colour? ??? And I'v only ditched one fender!
Black Sabbath - Fairies Wear Boots

Hey John,

I would go with Black for the Shovel,Axe & th Sledge. Then dry brush a lil' Gun metal on them to show wear & Then for some X-treme wear on a few of th edges hit it with some Flat Aluminium( shiny dull kinda thing. not too shiny) pick out the edges that would get struck - i.e. th sharpened edge of th Axe, partially up th spade on th Shovel & the faces of th Sledge, after that I think you'll be good to go !! All get wooden handles - I say that because the Wire Cutter handles are made from Bak-Lite which is a precursor to Plastic & they would be a Red-Brown color.

\m/_\m/ Too Much Me'al for one hand !!

Its coming alive!!! looking forward with the finish merseajohn!!

cheers!!!

Thanks for the info and comments Eric & Eastrock. While I'm waiting for the oil paint to dry Iv added the dark grey/black to the implements, and added 'scuff' marks to the edges and I think you can just see the wire cutters...and disregard the spare tracks on the side I havnt really started on them yet. Anyway making some real progress with this and I'm really enjoying it, Its been a great break from star wars (not that I'm staying away for long!)
Here's the 'evidence'! :)

Going for the Red Oxide primer scheme hey ??? Looking good !

sure is a different look that what we are used to see.... Nice Change !!!

thank you for sharing with us !

Norm

OUT !

Thanks Norm, yeah you could say the red oxide primer scheme is what I'm going for, its really just a fantasy build, I saw a red one in a magazine and it looked ace so I thought I'd give it a try! Next time I give a tank build I go it will be accurate and I'll give it a legit paint scheme! :p

Nothing wrong with the Red Oxide paint scheme dude... They actually existed !
many war photos are on line... about them.. either over run factories or
the tanks were needed faster than expected... so they were getting them
as is !!! with all the Chalk markings still on them...

Nice rendition ! great execution ! my hat to you for having pull this off !!!

its not every body cup of tea to STEP OUTSIDE The box !!!

now you truly have a unique example of the last big Kats seen in the last ditch efforts to
protect Das ReichLand.

Nice one buddy !

Thanks alot schweinhund227 means alot coming from a connoisseur like yourself! here's the rest of the build:
