I used some scrap plastic and a form made from my favorite medium Apoxie Sculpt. I just heated it in the oven; 350 degrees F. for about 20 seconds to get a good stretch over the canopy buck.

Very nicely done so far. I like the sleek look of the McQuarry A-wing over the snubby one they had in the movie!
 
Thanks Q, Yea I'm painting a light grey frame on it. We'll see how it looks. I might add some styrene framing if needed. I'll post a pic with just the painted frame and get your guys input.
 
Oooo.. I'd vote for thin styrene strips already. You could simulate the seam where the canopy opens better and include the base frame where it mates with the body. Put the paint in the underside to reflect thickness in the frame?

That canopy came out really nice. At this point don't spare any details!
