Finished this one up today. Straight out of the box except for the decals. I did wrap some commo wire on the spool at the back hatch. It's slightly out of scale but I hate looking at a blank spool.

Nice! Like the weathering. What kit is this?

Thank you. It's an older Italieri kit.

It is pretty big in 1:35, as the M108/M109 is a fairly big vehicle, but lightweight — they were originally amphibious with a floatation screen, but that was removed later. The M108 looks a bit comical with that 105 mm howitzer, though, instead of the 155 mm of the M109 :)

Thanks all. Appreciate the compliments.

Totally agree with the barrel size look. Having spent an extensive amount of time with 109s, the 108 barrel looks crazy.
For now it is the starting place for a series of 109s I'll be doing. Not sure if I am going to jump around or try to go in order.

If you're going to use Italeri kits for the M109 series, beware that they have part of the floatation screen moulded into the upper hull, which should be removed for the -A1 (off the top of my head) and beyond. This is apparently quite a job. The AFV Club kits are much better in this respect as well as in detail overall, but also trickier to build (and more expensive).
