Lunar Velociraptor

After a long hiatus (thesis, kids, and life in general), I finally started building again.
Instead of picking up on old projects I wanted to do a quickie, something easily build so it would finish soon, which feels good and makes me want to build more.

So I picked up a Ma.k fireball SG and build a velociraptor ^_^

Based on a design from Java, but with rockets this time.

I used some additional parts from a nightstalker and lots of wire for the neck and tail, which were covered with glue soacked paper afterwards for texture and to imitate dust covers.



And after some primer we get this:

Needs some paint now, so give me another year
Just feels good to finish something.

Im building the lunar tactical reconnaissance vehicle "Camel" atm ("A Camel In Space"), the suggestion there is light grey/medium grey - probably because of the fact that there are rocks etc. on the moon. But hey - thats only a suggestion.

Who says that there hadnt been some terraforming or something?! A wood camo would be cool for example. But thats only myopinion - at the end its YOUR model.

Bit of gray (over black)


Bit of light grey (over dark)


Bit of... not sure of the colour, light stuff.


Now towards weathering, and maybe figuring out where I left my camera so I won't have to keep posting these shitty phone-pictures.

Added some 'camouflage'
It should be able to hide on the moon now.
Then scrubbed the bugger like craze till half of the paint fell off.
Now it's almost ready for oils, just some buffing, decals and maybe a layer of future.

I think it's ready for oils now... what am I forgetting?
