I did very light washes with Tamiya panel line Accent Color Grey and AK Paneliner Black to improve its realism. As Ohkas were intended for one way mission it isn't logical to weather them, just a little is enough, they were factory new. The last part of the canopy was glued back.
I scratchbuilt new aileron mass balances, they were of unusual shape. Once the aileron is fully deflected the mass goes inside the wing via an oval opening, I think this is another way to prevent compressibility during final high speed dive.
I painted the pilot's seat gloss black, the lap belts were made with pieces of ordinary paper, with some parts painted in khaki other parts left as they are; buckles were made with plasticard (no photoetching, unfortunally - several tries were necessary). The whole assembly was then glued inside the cockpit.
