Special Hobby Westland Whirlwind 1/32 scale

This is a typical Special Hobby kit with all the issues we can expect. Not one for beginners and, I have to say, I have been rather spoilt by my Kotare and Zoukie Mura builds and I am glad to have this done.

I decided to display this with wheels up, though with no pilot.

I have always had a soft spot for this aircraft and what it might have been, had development continued perhaps with Merlin engines. As it was it served in just two squadrons and did good service for around 3 years. These were fast, and reputably more nimble than many single engine fighters.

so now he tells me, AFTER I build my first ever plane!
This one turned great... Nice looking plane, surely does look quick. And prickly nose to boot!

Very fine work, sir. Always had a soft spot for the Whirlwind myself.

I'm going to have to give one of these Special Hobby builds a whirl at some point.
