This is the aircraft flown by Al Deere when he had to crash land on the Dunkirk beach and was evacuated with the Expeditionary Force. He flew around 70 sorties in this aircraft and had two kills in it.

This aircraft was distinctive in a few ways. The internal rear mirror and no aerial wire being fitted with an experimental radio. Red gun patches were not universally used at this time so Kotare left them off for this aircraft in the instructions. However my research shows that Deere's squadron had them at this time so it's reasonable to say this aircraft did as well. There is no proof to say otherwise.

Anyway here are the pictures.

I would rate this a 10 out of 10 kit. The best Spitfire I have built and I dont exclude the beautiful Tamiya 1/32s of which I have built multiple examples as I will with this one with the MkVb on pre-order.

Have you built any of the Eduard Spitfires?

Beautiful work, sir. When I was a kid I built the Revell 1/32 kit in Deere's markings. It wasn't anywhere near as nice as yours!

Another beauty Barry, I really enjoyed building mine. Kotare hit the nail right on the head with this kit.
