Thankyou very much for the kind words and support guys,... looks like I'm the only one left here still Millennium Falconing! Ha!

Here's a small update on the mandible undersides

Hey Jaitea, what are you using for your pipe work?

Hi Jurasikfrank, I use a type of rod that I get in a local model shop, its coated in a thin layer of white plastic. They keep it with all the styrene girders and sheets

Thanks Quaralane, it's slow work, & I'm loaded with the cold at the minute....all I want to do is sleep

An update on the mandibles

Thanks MJ, I'm surprisingly looking forward to painting this bird, must be because of all the good work around here ;),
......but there's still quite a lot to build....sigh

1. Finish mandible side walls
2. Re-attatch mandibles to main body
3. Scratch docking rings
4. Scratch cockpit interior
5. Detail underside body
6. Scratch landing gear (Brass perhaps?)

About painting, do you think it would be advisable to paint the exposed machine parts now (like the parts in the mandibles & other areas), or wait till I do the whole ship

I would paint it now, seal it and mask it very carefully making sure the masking will be easily removed after assembly. As for the weathering, I would wait 'till all the painting is done.

Love your work man!
Cheers

Thanks Glorfindel, Quaralane & Jurasikfrank,

I'm really enjoying building this (or these), getting impatient....ha!

Thanks for the advice Jurasikfrank, I was hoping someone would advise painting parts now....time to fire up the airbrush!!

No, not really MJ....I bought some new Humbrol acrylics today (I do still have some from years ago), I bought white, black, yellow ochre & khaki all matt

Just spent some time catching up on your build Jaitea. That's some phenomenal work you're putting into the Falcon!

Well to tell you the truth its the inspiration from guys like you thats driving me on, I wouldn't have dreamt creating a new cockpit from scratch if it wasn't after seeing that you made one for the 1/144.....incredible!
