No Although not a 'Navy' builder I've never heard of one but I can only think either the driver/pilot dives into the briny and or dies in the process of sinking a large ship!

According to the historical blurb in the instructions, the driver is suppose to jump out before hitting the target.
The instructions say very little about the success or failure.

Thanks Bob T, I must read the blurb in future! So it's not Italian Kamikaze then!

Same concept as the German Linse, which came in two versions. One had an explosive charge and a single crewman who would steer the boat to near the target and then jump overboard, from which point it would be remotely controlled via radio until it hit the target. The other boat had no explosives but seats for five: a driver/commander, two radio controllers and two seats for the drivers of the explosive boats, after they had been picked up.

Unfortunately due to tiny PE parts and very poor mouldings it's sent to the bin!

That's a shame...
I laughed when you said "that's done it" as I thought you were reacting to my comment about a crash em up showdown.
I haven't opened my box, saving for a rainy day.

Yes I thought that when you had done yours we were going to play chicken and ram them into each other! But not to be!
