Italeri decals question

First of all, I'm sorry if this is not the right forum for this post, but I can't find a better place.

I've got an F-14A in my stash. The decals that came with the kit seem to be of a rather poor quality. An aftermarket decal sheet goes for around US$ 18, while Italeri's F-14A costs US$ 19 and includes decals for VF-84 Sqn. (a bit of a cliché, I know).

Does anyone know how good (or bad) are Italeri's decals?

I just finished Italeri's 1/48 Hurricane and had no issues. They went on fine with Micro Sol and Set. Unlike the decals on Academy's Thunderboldt that I m finishing up. Very poor quality. I ripped or tore several and the checkerboard cowling... forget about it. Any white on the decals shows paint through it.
