It's a nice kit but was disappointed with it. Having built the 1/32 Tornado I thought this later release would be better than it is.
Fit is fine overall and there are some interesting inclusions in the kit. Some odd engineering choices but no kit is ever perfect. I loved the 3D decal instrument panel but for the top section to fit I had to cut away the top right section and an instrument dial with it, otherwise it would not have fitted around the gunsight.
Oh, I hate p.e. and to have around 160 pieces of pe with the kit is way over the top and most of it adds nothing. Other companies would have done what's necessary without any of this pe. I used about a dozen pieces and 'failed' with 3/4 other pieces, the rest was either pointless or impossible to use for a normal human being.
My other issue was really down to my own choice. The smoke ring decals seemed a good and relatively easy option. If I built this kit again I would either spray the smoke rings or do a simpler scheme. Not because the decals are bad, I would not even have attempted it if they were lesser decals than Cartograph. They laid down well into detail, are well printed and thin. But they did have a tendency to curl at the edges and sometimes were impossible to straighten. Getting them into the right position was very difficult and time consuming. Around 100 elements of smoke rings were involved with this kit plus the markings. I did the camo over 4/5 days and have never applied so many decals to a single kit before. In the end it looks fine but is far from perfect.
If you want one of these handsome Italian fighters on the shelf in 1/32 scale, go for it and you will enjoy the build. Be selective as to what pe you use though and think carefully about the scheme.
