Well it looks good, spitfire, and I guess it is what it is sometimes. Apparently I had gotten some ca on my finger. You did a nice job on the camo Ron, well done - it looks great.
It's a shame about the clear part but these things happen. On the Spitfire I just posted I had a hell of a job with the armoured windscreen. I tried about four different types of glue and the infernal thing kept coming off (probably the only poor bit of design in the kit), in the end I got it on but it fogged slightly.
You don't want to know how many gluey finger prints I get on my builds - I'm getting good at polishing it out LOL!Well it looks good, spitfire, and I guess it is what it is sometimes. Apparently I had gotten some ca on my finger.
Thank you!Looking good!
Did you try UV curing resin?I tried about four different types of glue and the infernal thing kept coming off (probably the only poor bit of design in the kit), in the end I got it on but it fogged slightly.
No I didn't - that hadn't actually crossed my mind, do you think it might have worked? This UV resin is one of those things I keep meaning to try, but just haven't got around it yet.Did you try UV curing resin?
I haven't had a real need to use it yet, but it does appear to be the best way to glue clear parts together, as it won't cause any misting or discoloration. Or if you want to add a clear face to instrument panel dials/screens. If I do end up needing to glue a separate armored glass panel to a windshield, it's what I'll use.No I didn't - that hadn't actually crossed my mind, do you think it might have worked? I've used resin, not uv, to add "glass" to panels, in place of the plastic for headlights and periscopes etc. I ordered some uv resin to try and I'm excited about the possibilities with that.I haven't had a real need to use it yet, but it does appear to be the best way to glue clear parts together, as it won't cause any misting or discoloration.
