I'm back...Had to take a break from the Goat.

Worked up the nerve to try the 3D decals I bought. Got most of the interior ones on. There are a couple that are so small I probably won't bother.
They don't stick well, and the instructions say NOT to use decal softener. They suggested CA glue or X-22 thinner to hold them down, which seemed to work.
Several of them show a white edge and will need a little attention.

Can't wait for the next installment!
Here you go...
Been messin' with the camo all morning. Mostly just doing touch up. Had to stop before I mess something up.
I'll let this dry and than start on the detail painting later today.
If that goes as planned, the creek don't rise, and the Bears win tonight, I should be able to gloss coat it for decals this week.

(Wheels, hood, interior, etc., not actually mounted yet.)

Impressive camo job!

I've yet to try the AB gloss coat...
I'm still not very good with the gloss varnish. I have a hard time seeing how much paint is going down, until it's too much.
On the armor it's not to bad. I just need it smooth enough for decals, and coverage enough to protect the paint from weathering.
Eventually, I'll build something that needs a smooth, shiny, automotive finish. That'll be fun.

Earlier this week, as I was pulling the decals together, I realized the Tamiya truck number decals weren't the same as the ones in my photos. They show numbers/letters from stencils, while the Tamiya 82nd decals weren't. (The Marine numbers were stencils, weird)

I did order a sheet of decals that I believe are the correct size and type. We'll see. Arriving today.

USPS did not deliver my decals yesterday. Probably the winter storm coming through. No new delivery date yet. :(
That's the worst! I had one a few years ago that I kept an eye on the tracking page, went through 4 states before even heading in my general direction....then basically passed my house and onto the state north of me, came back and dropped to the state below me then sat like 4 towns over for two weeks before the dropped it off at usps to finish the delivery which was an additional two days, That was FedEx and finished by usps.

Ugh....Decals appear to be lost in the storm. Left CA on the 20th. Update on the 24th to "In transit. Arriving late."
Nothing since...

Oh well....Should have a stowage package arriving from Value Gear today. I can start on that, I guess. 🧐
