I am working on Rommel's command car which features brown leather seat and bench cushions. I will use vallejo's brown leather, but obviously it should not stop there. What sort of techniques can I use, such as pigments or drybrushing, to give it more depth. Thanks.

To give the leather some "depth" I would add a dark brown wash (darker than the leather brown color), then take your base color and add maybe a slight bit of tan, or buff to lighten it slightly then dry brush the raised areas of the seat. You can if you want further lighten the base color again to just drybrush the highest of raised areas.
After than just some pigment that looks like sand, brushed over, and you should be good to go.
