All right.
TIme for the next build here at the workshop.
Going to take the Games Workshop Hemlock Wraithfighter/Crimson Hunter kit and build it into a hypothetical Crimson Hunter "Phoenix Lord," basically, the latest incarnation of the very first Crimson Hunter.

A look at the sprues

Comparison of the two ships I'm combining to make the "Phoenix Lord."
I'll be using part of the Hemlock's center fin along with the normal Crimson Hunter Exarch parts

Primered up the cockpit and pilot parts

Work begins on the subassemblies

Much like my earlier Eldar craft, I painted the cockpit cushions in with red, and the control panels in with light grey.
The pilot's chest and gloves were done in with red, while its legs and upper arms were done with dark grey
For the head, I opted only to give the base plastic a black wash

With the cockpit in place, final assembly was completed fairly quickly

I masked off the canopy, then gave the whole model a coat of flat black primer

With the primer dry, the whole model was given a base coat of gold in fitting with the "Phoenix Lord" theme

With the gold dry, I gave the upper part of the ship a coat of transparent red

I went in and painted in some of the panels in a similar pattern to the box art.
The lighter panels were painted in with Vallejo's grey primer, while the darker areas on the hull were painted in with the Vallejo dark grey primer.
The engines and guns were given a coat of the dark grey as well.
On the guns, I followed the dark grey with a drybrush of copper.
For the engines, I painted them over with gunmetal.
I also painted in the intakes with gunmetal.
The gems were painted with a purple ink over a gold base.
As a final touch, I brushed a Crimson Hunter glyph on each wing.

Thank you.
And I'd agree, fo rthe most part, about it being one of their better kits
