COMPLETE - Hobby Boss 1/35 Merkava Mk III.D

Re: Hobby Boss 1/35 Merkava Mk III.D

Hey Aaron, thanks for the complements. Did want to let you know this was more than a weekend project. I've been at it for about a month or so but didn't get around to posting a thread. Also, I've got a bit more work to get done on the upper hull before I call this one quits.

Wow great work on this Adam!

I go by Meng, I want to do in LIC version, just ask me to send the fotocortados for HB to adapt to Meng´s mold, if not to work more, had thought of buying the HB but lacks the bottom plate and decided to do Scracht, hopefully more progress, greetings from Mexico.

sure does look good Adam! i think youve made a nice IDF sand color mix!

Re: Hobby Boss 1/35 Merkava Mk III.D

I think the fairly subtle weathering on this tank is good. The dust and mud look realistic and just right.

Overall this has been a very fun build with only a few moments of frustration. I am very pleased with the results. I hope you guys enjoy.

Well done my friend!! Nicely weather war horse you have!! These things are crazy , just love the shape!! What's next on the chopping block?!! ;D

Very nice. I like the color and your weathering, looks great. The fuel spill around the caps is a very nice touch. So what's next?

I've got a few projects on the go at the moment but I've been gluing up a 1/35 HEMTT the last few nights. Want to get that ready for paint. :D. At some point I have to finish up my Jagdtiger too.

thank you for giving me some top tips when i come to paint mine...superb job mate ;) ;)

wow Adam, that Merk is impressive! youve done a fantastic job with weathering, really comparable to photos ive seen of this beast!

Thanks TBadger!!! I'm looking forward to the BSC myself! Not too sure what I'm going to build but it'll probably be a Tamiya kit. Shake bake and paint. ;D

Awesome tank! I really love the way you made it look, so detailed, so many little bits and pieces to paint. Well done.

I'm really wondering though, what are the balls on chains attached to the rear of the turret for?

The ball and chain armor is used as an anti RPG armor. You will find it on all Merkavas.
