BOATMANS HMS TIGER C20 scratch build for R/C

HI GUYS well some more pics for you all of that very intricate working foremast an firstly a plan pic of it an what i had to build an this was altered several times by by the r/n

here a shot of it lit up with white steamin light an top running light an red anti collishion lights an this was quite hard to build an get the lights in as the brass cross members are only 2mm thick an i used the brass mast as a negative reply so it cut down on wireing then i never had the shakes like i get at times now so gettin old oh dear an i wanted them bright so they could be seen when she is sailing on the pond in daylight

AN While i remebered i thought id better get some red primer on both hulls so its 10 coats of red primer paint to begin with to help with keeping her water tight

an drilling out the hull to fit in the brass porthole

AN ONE lot of brass port holes fitted an they have glass fitted in them

AN Back to that front fore mast an here it now all works ok both radars an lights an this mast can be removed as it just held on the main bridge S/S by tiny screws AN the mast radar gearboxes can all be stripped down in case of gears jumping again held togeather by tiny screws but its not finished yet as its got to have all the ladders an saftey rails fitted on an really this is a model just in its self

here a shot of the rear main mast an at the time both radars worked but now only the top big search radar works but never mind its fitted with an inspection 2 hatchs so i can get inside to get to the crown gears in case of gear jump an again this can be removered from the hangar deck as held on by tiny screws

AN THINKING ahead here i bought at the time a power distrobuion board so it will distibute the power evenly throughtout the ship an fitted with its own fuses

here the 3inch speaker for the battle alarm sound unit an this fitted in the deck S/S

AN HERE is the battle alarm sound unit that is fitted down in the hull an is activated by the R/C set

now for now back to the ship bow section an here im just working out where the both guns turrets will be mounted an also finished off fitting in the brass port holes

an fitting some open an closeing water tight doors so far just one done but there will be more

AN AS can be seen that the bridge S/S is quite big an the fore mast looks good an it took the builders of this ship 20 odd yrs to build her due to R/N admiltly changes before she was ready to be launched crazy wasnt it bet they were fed up in the ship yard where they were tryin to build her an more changes came through so it was back to the drawing boards as she was suppoced to go to the falklands war but her automatics guns kept jamming so they dint send her

HERE this is the bowthruster motor an its R/X TO WORK the bowthrusters motor as the real ship dint have one but i thought id better fit one due to this high S/S would get blown about alot by the wind so this unit gave me good controll over how the 8 ft long hull could be kept in check an not hit other peoples boats on the water

AN while im on about that big bridge S/S here after a month or so ive manged to fit on some detail lord know what half the bits they fitted on her was for ? an a opening W/T door fitted

AN ON the back of the S/S im now fitting on the big sets of steps that took the crew from 01 deck up too the top of the big S/S an i should have thought they would be knackered by the time they got to the top lol

an here im working out how to cool the motors even though they have tiny fans on the
ESC 'S
