I have black, red and green versions of these

The black .20 mm and .25 mm sizes of these are useful for dotting on eyeballs, or

They work well over a matte painted surface but can be a bit tricky getting on a clear canopy, although I have used them to line window frames

HI Blakeh1 thanks for sayin the planes look good as ive near lost it building these little devils but if you think they are good then all is not lost an cockpit framein wow the cockpits are only 2mm wide by 3mm long so cockpit fremein i dont think so it took me all my time to build the planes as im used to 1/32nd scale planes so these planes are not my fortie but thank you sir for your reply
nice to know someone is looking in on the build

I wouldn't stress the framing too much, like I mentioned, it's an optional thing that will probably go un-noticed outside of zoomed in pictures

i.e. most people seeing it in person would probably not notice that detail. It's is only zoomed in images on a computer screens that really would show it

It is like the equivalent of model builders going all out on interiors and then closing up the model and you do not see any of it except may a slight hint of it through a tiny window. Details only they really know are there

It is hard to see the tree for the forest....or however the saying goes.

One thing I learned on the 1/200 USS IOWA is that all the little problems that drove me nuts because they weren't perfect seemed to fade away as the build progressed, there is just so much to look at on the finished build.
Keep up the good work.
HI Kevin yes you are right about bein driven nuts as these planes have an p/e have done to me an yes i will finish these planes an the carrier have no fear of that but as you say if its not up to what you exspect then its easy to get peed off isnt it
cheers sir

I personally get them from either Michael's Craft stores or Hobby Lobby, both big chain retailers here in the US, but if I recall correct, you are across the pond so to speak, so not sure what equivalent stores in your area might be. They are also on Amazon, but often as packs rather than being able to buy just one pen like in the brick and mortar stores

I hadn't thought to use these for the eyes- nice tip!

I use AK acrylic paint pens and they're a godsend. For that scale I would not worry about panting the canopy frames but I have been using my paint markers to do so on larger aircraft. Also for the wheels I typically paint the hub and then use my marker to paint the tire. It's much easier but again that's larger scale. Jen is making you watch your language! That made me chuckle! My daughter , she's 20, heard me cursing at small parts and opened my door and said "are you finding your hobby therapeutic today?" LOL.

Those planes look great! And when you set them on that huge ship, all those little problems that YOU see will be unnoticed by others, swallowed up by the sheer size of the project -- as pointed out by Kevin!
Best regards,
Kurt
HI Kurt yes i suppoce you an kevin are right on that score but today was near a day of disater as our cat lilley got into my model room unknow to me an the little blighter jumped up onto my table where i put the carrier so it doesnt get broke an she dug her claws into the box to pull herself up as she is a big cat an BOY just as well i see what she was doin so i just grabbed the box to stop it from goin down onto the floor an smashing up well im bannaing her now from my model room (phew oh boy ) an well ive now got my questinon anserwed to regards these dauntless planes as to wheather they will be easyier to build an they enrt the tail an the fusealarge dont fit on a dry fit an because they are glass colour i cant see what the problem is why they wont fit an it took me all day to just buld two of them an they are not complete some pics of the two i treid to build today

HI GUYS well ive been beavering away today on them Dauntless planes kits an im limiting myself to just 3 hrs a day on these plane kits as they are givin me eye strain now as bein clear plastic i really am struggeling to find the tiny holes for the undercart so now ive so far made up 4 semi kits as still more to go on them an im waiting for the paint to come

I can definitely relate to the frustration of working gluing those clear plastic bits.
I only did a few so far for my 1/700 Nimitz and shelved them until I had time to figure out a better method. It was really hard gluing on the rudders and wheels since it was hard to actually see what was going on as you mentioned
Next time when I attempt to build them I wondered if it might be better to mask off the canopies if molded on and primer the parts before gluing, scratching away the paint where it is to be glued.

Also I know that horror of the panicked realization that the cat has found its way into the model room

I think probably more room per shelf. Maybe take one out and have 3 with more room 🤔. PM

I think definitely needs more room otherwise it runs the risk of knocking of the antennas/masts

CHEERS guys for your opinions but i think i will lower the bottom shelf that hornet is on if i can get the screws out as when my mate does a job he does it a little to well lol

Maybe a light coat of primer would highlight the hole's? Pantherman
