Just catching up as everyones setting a fast pace!
I got the other side of the tracks on, the magic tracks make it move along a lot faster. I got the top of the body built but not fixed yet as I will paint the interior first, I also left all the tools off the fenders as I plant to fix them after painting.
What I've been working up to is scratch building the top storage 'box', I want it similar to the bergeanzer iii arrangement, although I've not seen this on a panzer iv chassis, I thought how useful it would have been (and how cool it will look full of tools!)
So i made this from very thin plywood to give the grainy look and scored the lank lines in. Then I created the 'metal' surround from plastic angle pieces. I will add more details as I build on to make it look more interesting.
This may seem fairly straightforward, but the biggest problem was moving the derrick crane to a new position. It should be on the original wooden panel that covers the hole left by the turret so I had to move it to the front of the tank away from the new box.
I can't believe that i've been at it a week and still not got the thing built, its a record for me!
Thanks for looking
