Bergepanzerwagen IV 1/35 dragon

Hi Guys

Hers my first entry this year, Dragons Bergepanzerwagen IV

I intend a bit of scratch building with a wooden storage area on top like the Bergepanzer III and plenty of tools and the like showing a well equipped and used bergepanzer. Accessories are from the Tamiya field maintenance kit and Plusmodel.

Can't wait to get started!

There are a lot of bits here thats for sure, its hard work searching through all the sprues for the right part!

I've got started building so I thought I would share my progress. I was actually a bit gutted we couldn't do a diorama, which is usually my bag, but because I've just got the kit to build and no groundwork to worry about, its really focussed my mind on getting all the details right on the Panzer, cleaning, sanding and checking every part. That's what I did with the wheels, the line that Dragon put around the tyre looked out of scale so I sanded every one down (32!) to make this more subtle and to add a bit of wear.

I built up the front end so I could put together an interior. I won't be showing the whole interior, but I did want to show the drivers door open and that part of the interior inside, so I used bits from the spares box and some plastic stock

I've got the chassis and wheels together and added the tracks on one side so far. It's all going together really well, once you get over the dodgy instruction.

sorry for getting off to a quick start boys, i cleared my last project a week ago so ive been dying to dive in, its been driving me crazy!

to be fair the dragon kits going together like a dream, ive been taking my time too, normally i'd have the kit together at this point

I had this kit in my hand at the LHS, I will be following this closely. As i think I may go back and get it. I love this kit.
