Here is some photos I took of my AT-ST I just completed. The reference photo that I mainly used as far as painting was from the book, "Sculpting a Galaxy". I lightly weathered with black ink and a drop of dish soap in water. I used a sponge and lightly dry brushed.... also used Tamiya weathering pastels. I stayed away from oil paints and thinners with the way it reacts to kits mentioned on the other threads on this site. I did pre-shade before painting but kept this a little clean as I have a habit of over weathering.
I mixed Tamiya sky grey, white, blue, black, and deck tan and I think the color mix worked well. I also went over some of the edges with Tamiya chrome or silver.
