Hi all,

I'd like to try the AK weathering products - but as I look through their product line I'm getting a bit overwhelmed (they appear to be geared toward armor) by all the different washes. So you guys that use them ... which washes or sets would you recommend as a good "starter" set for automotive applications - such are engine/wheel grime, etc...?

Thanks!

I would say for engine grime, oil, fuel, etc, you can't go wrong with Engine Oil, Engine Grime and Fuel Stains. Not really washes perse....but they will get the job done on oily, greasy areas.

Then you have your various colors of streaking grime, just really depends on the color of the vehicle, darker streaking grime for darker vehicles....that being said, you can use them all, just maybe go easy on the darker streaking grime on lighter color vehicles.

Remove vehicle/time/place specific the labels in your mind and just look at the colors. I have used their 'Slimey Grime', heavily thinned, as a filter for green base colors.

Think of them as an art medium, nothing more.
