Re: Adampolo13's BSC Thread

You ain't kidding JMac! I spent a while going over the instructions last night and I have to admit I'm a little intimidated.

I really need to hurry up and finish this commission build...

Re: Adampolo13's BSC Thread

Well guys, the build has officially started! I began my journey with a dry fit of the two fuselage halves and boy did it start out fun! There won't be much to worry about here, well except maybe where to put it when I'm done.

Then it was on to the cockpit. I'm so glad I didn't go for the deduced PE setts the kit has some really great raised details. By the way, can't say enough about the AKAH paint. Please ignore the PVA glue as it dries.

Then I couldn't help myself from dry fitting more of the pit...

Re: Adampolo13's BSC Thread

Thanks for the comments guys. After some quality time with the family I was back at the bench tonight. My whole goal at the beginning of this project was to go completely out of the box with no aftermarket items. I may end up using the eduard masks but I really wanted to stay away from the eduard set. Now, that's not to say that the Eduard stuff is bad, but I wanted to challenge myself to do the best with what's in the box.

Well after the work I did on the instrument panel tonight I couldn't be more happy with my decision to stick to the box parts. You'll see that the PVA glue dried and gave the dials a realistic shine and the dry brush made the nobs and bobs stand out.

After that I decided to start working on the seats. Now I did build them up last night but didn't paint them or start the seatbelts. The kit comes with PE buckles but I had to cut the belts from Tamiya tape. During the process I was thinking, maybe a seatbelt set would be nice but once I got these glued down they have a great 3rd appearance and I'm happy. I'll glue up the rest of the belts and finish painting the seats tomorrow.

Re: Adampolo13's BSC Thread

Fantastic! Wow, that instrument panel looks amazing. Great work my friend. Heli's are a subject I often ignore, but this build has me inspired to give one a go! Keep it up!
