Hello fellow Shelf Queen builders. I started a car project last year and after some initial painting it sat in the cupboard all that time. I love the Shelf Queen Build because it re-focuses our creativity to a past project that went sour for some reason. This is a 1969 Baldwin Motion Camero that I will be painting green and white to match the box picture. this will be my first attempt at building a showroom quality car. Tips and ideas are welcome.

That was an awesome car in it's day. Still is. We'll try to help out as much as we can. Ask away.

Re: '69 Baldwin Motion Camaro

OK. Here's a question. There are a lot of chrome parts on this puppy. I am installing them as is (no stripping). On some of the smaller chrome parts like the carb and headers when cutting them off the sprue some of the chrome gets damage at the attachment point. I covered the rough spots up a bit with some Tamiya silver but it doesn't have a chrome shine. Any better ideas?

If you have any Bare Metal Foil kicking around, you could give it a try, but unfortunately the only thing to represent chrome well is the Alclad Chrome, which means stripping and respraying.

We are making progress on the Camaro build. The interior is about done, as is the undercarriage (including scratch built exhaust) and the body painted with one coat of Future. I am just working on some exterior detailing with Bare Metal Foil, then decals, then final coats of clear. I am really excited about the Bare Metal Foil! I have never really used it before. I used it to chrome lots of interior detail and wow! It is easy to use as well.

Thanks for checking in.

Nice colour. My friend use to have a Rally Green 69 Camaro with white rally stripes. It really stood out.

Getting close. Body is done except for rally stripe...not sure if I will include it. Interior is complete. I just need to put it all together. Pics coming soon!
