I'm liking the kit, lot's of decent details and not too much flash for an older kit. You can always rely on tamiya. Think I might build this in 4 parts starting with chassis, front, rear, then the guns and tools. Pantherman
I had forgotten how much I hate/love doing PE. Just going to let that set overnight and clean it up tomorrow. Pantherman

That looks a frustrating and therapeutic. Models are not a race for me, they are an escape from the hustle and bustle of the world and stress.
Absolutely agree with you on that. I find that when modeling other issues and pain seems to leave me, just my chill out time.

The PE work just ups that concentration level so that everything else is forgotten. That's why I love it and hate it at the same time.

Ok... I didn't know that some had pink tires.
I have found some photos where the tyres are over sprayed when they were doing the hub's. It looks good so I might go with that maybe. Only thing is that it also looks like you just messed up the hub spraying, airbrush newbie. Pantherman

Absolutely. The pain does kind of subside.
Unfortunately I had to push the date for the hip replacement from October to January. Then the count down begins on the road to retirement December 31, 2024!
Then back at school to start my masters in psychology.;) and lots of models!

And the cleaner version ready for fixing and priming. Pantherman
So I have been up alot of last night and have a fair bit done. I'm not rushing it's just that suddenly I have alot of time on my hands.

Primed in black for the chassis and grey for the rest then a coat of olive drab as most were originally that colour before the SAS resprayed them I believe. Next some hairspray in areas of wear then the pink top coat.

I'm not over impressed with some of the PE as it seems to be over complicated and the tamiya part's are just as good in area's where you can't really see much when the build is completed. I think that both of your builds will look probably better without it.

Looking good, Panther! I did what I could last night which was almost finish step 1...lol... I will finish painting the frame and floor tonight and move along. I was planning to do an RAF Dark Green base on the body with the pink over that.

Looking really nice! But the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Lol :D :p
I'll be able to work more today yesterday was busy.

Just because you can't handle driving on the correct side of the road. My uncle has solved this dilemma when he lived in Spain, he just drove in the middle of the road . Pantherman

My oldest already drives all over the road. It wouldn't matter if the steering was in the middle. :D
Her driving scares me.
She took my car one night and hit a fat racoon which resulted in some fixable damage.
Good grief...:p

I figure I'll just keep the chassis hellgrün (light green).
Believe it or not the gear box gave me a little trouble.

I'm a little behind because the sleeping pills (tramadol) are kicking my butt. I'm sleeping too much. And since I'm returning to work next weekend I cannot over sleep.
I'm feeling better now.

Pantherman how are you feeling? I really hope you heal quickly.

I know that you will never see them but those injection pin marks on mine were driving me nuts so I filled and sanded them all off and resprayed the lot. Peace has returned. Pantherman

That is what is slowing me down. I have to deal with the heavy pin marks and I have really big seam lines on most of my parts that I am cleaning up as much as I can. I did finish painting the frame though.

Chassis redone and I have added the front although not glued in place yet until I have done some touching in as it's easier to paint in smaller sections. Pantherman
