    Desperately Need DML Ferdinand Decals

Hi Everyone, So I obtained the The Peddinghaus decal sheet for JgAbt 653, in order to render vehicle 322. Unfortunately, despite success in the past using decals, the markings splintered, despite liberally applying future as a varnish and copious amounts of microl sol. So I am looking for this...

Magic Tracks, several kits, couple pe sets for sale or trade

I have four or five sets of magic tracks I'd like to sell. three mid war- ( stug iii g, panzer iv g kits) two late war (look really similar in the bags, but are different, from iv h mid and mid to late j) one early--DAK III J. 14 postage paid in the US, less with multiple sets bought. In...

    StuG III E. WIP

Looks great. One thing-the interior side of the commander's hatch was the same color as the basecoat, in this case Schwarzgrau.

    Difficulty with Friul hanomag tracks

Update-- I was using .20 brass rod. It seems it was a sliver too thick. Using staple to make pins just a little thinner it seems to be working. Still really touch and go though . ...

    Difficulty with Friul hanomag tracks

Usually I am exteremly partial to Friuls, and have never had difficulty with them before. But the 250 tracks are proving to be unworkable. The holes are in the interior of the track, with an outer flap on each side. Even cutting pins to the precise link is not helping. When I slip the pin...

    Hand brushing Tamiya paints?

Tamiya paints are notoriously bad for hand brushing. You can get away with it for small touch up areas. I am incredulos about tales of people who say they can pull it off. For handbrushing I use vallejos--those are really the only acrylic paints those don't create an eyesore after handbrusing.

    3d Kompanie Ferdier Transfers

I have a Ferdy on the shelf I am hoping to prime and paint later this week. I want the model to represent 322, which was believed to be the vehicle commanded by a Ritterkreuztraeger. The Archer set has 321. I wondered if someone had a used set with that 2 from the 21 remaining. I will buy it...

Tinting White Camo differently for different basecoats

But do the shades differ depending on what basecoat it is on? Apart from washes or filters, I am referring to a couple of drops in the whitecoat. ...

Tinting White Camo differently for different basecoats

One thing I have learned is that for whitewash/winter camo, you should taint the white to avoid a paper white effect, which makes it look like a toy. I have always used just a couple of drops of translucent blue, to give the white a 'cold' feeling to it, and to break up the paper white,but...

    A Little Honey

Very unusual paint scheme-it really catches the eye. I had a question that is unique about this paint scheme. There really is not a base color becase the blue and tan are about half and half. Should he use the same filter for the blue as for the tan, or try and go half and half on this?

    Das Reich Tiger Kharkov

Sadly it does not. It includes some of the hoses-maybe the later cleaners, but not the early ones.

    Das Reich Tiger Kharkov

Actually, as it so happens, I picked up the winter grime, not for the Tiger so much, but for the Stug F8--pics of those do look beat up. That and a couple other things, including a DAK filter (because it is hard to match that browny yellow color). Erik raised some interesting questions. I don't...

Finishing for Brown Leather on German AFVs

I am working on Rommel's command car which features brown leather seat and bench cushions. I will use vallejo's brown leather, but obviously it should not stop there. What sort of techniques can I use, such as pigments or drybrushing, to give it more depth. Thanks.

filters and washes - what's the difference?

Filters are a shade of the base coat applied after the base coat. You can make your own btw, with oils and mineral spirits. I don't see a need to buy filters or washes if you have a stable of basic oil colors, except for colors difficult to create (such as sandgelb). If you are doing a 43...

    Das Reich Tiger Kharkov

Thanks. A mentor informed that the tool box is not level, so I had to readjust that. Not sure how these things escape my eyes. Guess its like proofreading--I spot mistaes and typos in others' writing, but after a while my eyes play tricks. He also thinks the side skirts do not look good, as...

    Das Reich Tiger Kharkov

I am not entirely convinced this guy is not just packaging materials that can be readily made the old whale (eg washes and filters), but I think it may be worthwhile here, provided others vouch for this. I am thinking about what's on the line with this. I had to buy two kits (one dml the other...
