Well, if it's up to me, just build something that fits that historic event and try to finish it before June 6th.

I am a bit along for my birds (just clipping and sanding, no glue yet), but forgot to take pictures.

My suggestion is that we do have a "due date" on this group build of June 1st. Such being that we may create a dedicated thread of our completed builds with what words of tribute to accompany them.
Then forward the thread to the D-Day Museums in Portsmouth England and New Orleans, Louisiana.
At the very least let others know these courageous men are not forgotten.

possibly, not to be a downer but I'm currently dealing with stage 4 brain cancer, and the chemo and radiation don't leave a lot left in the energy department. i am struggling to put decals on a gundam kit at the moment

That takes precedence. Chemo and radiation take out the bodies' ability to repair because they stop the generation of new cells (cancer cells, but also other cells). A friend of mine just had a tumor taken out the size of a flattened tennis ball. I hope your recovery is quick.

I've been wanting to build a P-38 so decided to build do it for this build. I found a 1/48 Hasegawa P-38J. Let's go!

Know where you're coming from - stage 4 bladder cancer - chemo completely kicked my butt!

I did some research and I am definitely going to do a PT boat. I am going to do PT-509. It was a part of MTBRon 34 and was present on D-Day. There were several other PT boats present but I want to do 509 (nicknamed "Sassy Sue") as it was sunk on 9 August, 1944, while attacking a group of German minesweepers. Only 1 crewman survived the sinking. Here's a picture of her assisting USS Tide. 509 is on the left.

My Churchill Crocodile arrived today. I will start on it when I finish the LST.

I officially started, with pilots and ground crew:
Much of march will not allow me to build anything.
