I mentioned the Kotare Spitfire Vb earlier. It is delayed and probably won't be released for a few months. All to their drive for perfectionism!

For those who have it on pre-order they will throw in a resin cockpit door alongside the resin exhausts, all free on pre-orders before 30th September. I have placed my preorder. With postage from NZ it's a bit expensive but the resin makes it worthwhile.

Where do you order it from?

This is the problem I'm needing to solve. I messed up somewhere at the sticker stage. Whatever i did wrong caused silvering on one wing that became evident only after I sprayed a dullcoat. I'm guessing the problem had to be there before, but the dullcoat made it show up.

Whatever it was, when I tried to resolve by making pinholes in the film and applying Micro Sol it did not work. So I tried to cut the clear film away from the wording, which resulted in disaster. So I just peeled away the silvered bit, and was left with this...

Here (below) is an earlier pic during the sticker-stage, you can see the gloos coat, but I do not see the problem with silvering here, maybe due to the glare from the gloss?

Anyway, new stickers are down, want some more time with Micro Sol before I touch up the matte and call it done. Oh, and paint the rear-view mirror.

Just seen this. Personally I would recommend always painting the walk lines, it eliminates that problem all together and is a lot easier. Cut the script from the decal. It's very easy to do, the simplest of masking jobs.

Wrapping up the cockpit here, just wanted to show some pics because it is about to all be invisible.

That tank behind the pilot's right shoulder/elbow says "use no oil or grease - they cause explosions" which I thought was interesting.

Just in case any Spitfire aficionados are wondering where the rest of it is (like the side-door), these side panels are only the bottom half.
Hmm I may have to try a kotare kit.

If you like Zoukei Mura, you'll love Kotare.

Roughly the same price, far less complex with the Kotare, similar tolerances (basically none), similar detail, better overall fit for Kotare (probably due to simplified approach), but both brands are top-of-the-line in my opinion.
