Hello everyone,
I started assembling this Eduard kit:

I've been seeing a good number of these Eduard P-51 builds pop up on the radar and I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of watching them get built. This build here is no exception to that fact.

You're doing a GREAT job on detailing this one Rod. Wait.........you're building a 1/48 scale aircraft??!!

Disaster with Eduard decals!
I followed the instructions at "https://info.eduard.com/en/02-2024-1/page-88", and this is the result after I pulled the transparent film off...
Man, that really sucks. Sorry to see that. I'm just finishing off an Eduard kit now. I (unplanned) removed the backing from one of the underwing roundels after inadvertently pulling some of it up while taking off a piece of masking. The backing came off easily and I considered trying to remove it from the rest of the decals but decided not to risk it. I know some modelers seem to have it down, but I've also seen plenty of people get the unfortunate results you did.

Don't know what your location is but it should be fairly easy to get a replacement set of USAAF roundels.

Congratulations on fixing the disaster and finishing a very nice build. However, it's been a long time since I built an Eduard kit. I'm confused: Is there something different about Eduard decals? Removing the film after application? o_O

I like this one already but really like it after seeing your recovery on the decal issue that you had Rod. And then.........you stepped out of the norm and built a 1/48 scale aircraft. Beautiful work man.
