Ahhh... scribing. This is something I have been working on for a couple of weeks. I finally broke down and ordered a scribing tool online, and bought some of the special tape to help with the scribing. Why didn't I know how much of a difference these two things make?
The scribing tool wasn't that costly online. The one I bought came with about 7 different scribe blade thicknesses. The plastic scribing tape is the real game changer. My panel lines are now straight and repeatable. I can move the tape to a few different places before the tape loses its stickiness.

This is my scribing tool that I purchased. It's all aluminum machined except for the head which appears to be hardened steel. It's from Squadron.

Actually, now that I look at it closer the whole thing appears to be made of steel not aluminum.

Picked these up on eBay for about a hundred bucks for the 3 of them.

You have the same scribing tool that I bought. I really like it.
I had been using a dental pick, but it didn't work near as well as the tool in your photo. I really like how the tool came with the 7 different thickness'/widths. I believe the scribing blades are made from tungsten. They have squared-off edges, instead of the "V" shaped grooves I was getting from the dental tool.
The tool is pretty inexpensive on Amazon. The below price is in Cdn $.

Nice! I have the more traditional 'v' profile tools, but I appreciate the square tip of these, more like a chisel, and can be used that way as well!

The problem with CA is that though it has a strong bond, sometimes it is too brittle, and doesn't leave any wiggle room.
I'm hoping to try out the Insta-flex next time I need a 'flexible' join.

@GCB Too often, I reach for the glue with one hand, the other already holding the part, so a steady bottle is a bonus when getting the cap off with one hand... and depending on the situation, that could be the regular, extra thin or quick setting!
The fourth one is a floater, for goop, or one of Tamiya panel liners in the paint area...

The 0.01mm bit on the right looks like it will break if I even breathe on it. Pantherman

And the next two over... they are aggressive enough, but very susceptible to breaking from lateral force. (Even the weight of the pin vise can be enough if you don't keep the bit perfectly aligned). Worst case, they break and remain embedded.
I've found that my most used bit in that set is the .35, so I bought a couple of boxes of those for easy replacement. Sharpie the size on the case helps too!
