Just completed six Seawolf models to take to our crew's reunion. All designed and 3D printed in resin in record time to make the deadline.

I'm convinced you could figure something out!
Combining different profiles, or just keeping it simple, after all, your model will be the star!
I was also surprised when I built my Toon Hood, how a little 'faux marble or quartz' painting goes a long way!

This is one piece of (premium) wood with the edges routered to add a cover. (Note the grain remains the same.) Typically, I mount submarines to bases using keel blocks, but in this smaller scale, it reduces the minutia factor, especially with six hulls to crank out on a deadline.

I had one of the two original (pre-conversion) hulls left over and decided to upgrade the sail (shown in the group picture above with a single observation scope bonded to the top) since there wasn't time to create a full set of masts and antennas to match the time period prior to delivery in Oct.
The long-range surface search radar ended up being so delicate, I decided to keep it in the lowered position for protection as shown. The sail's bridge is now a separate part, which allowed me to make through-hole bridge windows which were filled with clear resin. Having a separate bridge made painting the white interior much easier. After multiple revisions, I had a decent working design, but probably printed and threw out forty sails to get the print orientation and surface quality I was after.
The Seawolf files are finally locked down and design work on the next hull begins. (Only about a dozen classes of US nukes left to design and build before I decide what to do with the files.)
We have another crew's reunion scheduled in two years, so I'll build another batch to gift to my shipmates before then.
