My model of the Confederate warship Alabama built here at Cammell Laird Birkenhead

Nice work on that classic kit! It's older than I am, it was issued in 1961. If I'm not mistaken, Revell issued the same sprues as the USS Kearsarge, too.
I can't wait to see her rigged and under full sail!
Best regards,
Brad

Mast rigging used by sailors to climb the masts on my Alabama looked tired and tatty in time. Sitting in the garden overlooking the Mersey, from where Alabama first sailed, an inspiration. The fine black bird netting cut to fit did the job. Sailors now less likely to fall off.

Hello mate! You might care to consider that the shrouds (Supporting ropes) are considerably thicker than the ratlines (the lines that are tied across the shrouds for climbing purposes). A common misconception is that they are of equal thickness/diameter - they are also 'slacker'!

Cheers Steve. The sailors are getting up, so they must know their ropes. It was an immediate fix. My Alabama is showing its age these days, been through a few battles me thinks.
