Help. My 1/96 Alabama model is now a 'ship wreck'. See original posting May 6 2025. During stormy weather here on Merseyside on New Year's Day the model blew off the bedroom window ledge. It broke up on hitting the floor, bits all over the place. I have just put everything in a box for now. Alabama was built here on Merseyside at Cammell Laird. It would have sailed out of Liverpool Bay, overlooked from where our house is now. So, it was easy to imagine Alabama sailing out, as the model was in the foreground of my bedroom view. I have put everything in a box for now. Meanwhile, I wonder if any forum members in the UK have spare parts, or even a completed model I could purchase. SOS Alambama.

Robin, there is a good book FEE Alabama The Anatomy of a Confederate Sea Raider worth looking out.
The author Andrew Bowcock was on a steering committee to build a full size replica in the original rock in Birkenhead. The project unfortunately got shelved, but I guess you could find out a lot more about it from your local sources. I think that the museum has copies of the publicity material available.
