Working with SinSenGumi Camouflage Decals in1/35 scale

Here is a small Video I made... using the Sinsengumi Camouflage Decals...

the set I am using in the video is a American Woodland Camo... in 1/35th.

if I have time I will also Film myself doing a FULL Figure using the same type of
decals but... the more Modern DIGITAL CAMO the US is using in Afg. or Iraq

Hope you like the Results... ?

OUT !

Thank you for posting this! I often cut apart decals and place the pieces. So what you did here made sense to me.

Just a small update on this!

I have been under the weather for.... Almost a week if not more....

Tonight was the first time I sat down to do model stuff!

Summer colds are nasty! And I never escape them.....

Anyway! I sat for about an hour and a half! Watching a movie with one eye!
And doing a set of Army rucks acs.... In digital camo...

Using The greenish/grayish pattern used in Afghanistan and Iraq.

It was a little harder to do then the one depicted in my YouTube tutorial.... I used a coffee mug warmer
Instead of my candle heater to keep my water warm.... The less heat made a big difference
In the way de decals behaved! Not being hot enough meant they stared tearing instead of
Conforming to the multitudes of wrinkles and folds seen on the backpacks....

I shall post pictures of it tomorrow! It turned out OK!

I might try to paint the strappings first thou! Just to bring out the details!

Painting those digital camo would be just but impossible.... In that scale ! IMHO

Later

Ok here is the Picture....

I have to say... IT would be Hell to try painting these little Squares by HAND...!!!

took me about Half an Hour to do the Kevlar Helmet !!! about 15 little pieces of decals just for the Helmet... YES... working on Compound curves requires you to work small... if not...? you will endup with Creases and folds that will be hard to conceal or get rid off....

a few lines with a light kaki or green to highlight the straps and buckles... and I should be set for that one...

it does look kind off grayish... doesn't it ??? but there is some green in there... LOL its the light and my Camera... sorry about that....

supposed to look somewhat like this one... I got from the NET !!!
ALTHOUGH the Rucksack I am using isn't from the NEW MOLLE Carrying system...

Tamiya hasn't released one YET..... so I hope the "PURIST Clan" won't jump all over me ??? LOL

Anyway ! if you like the results... go to HLJ.com and get yourself some SinSenGumi.jp Decals...

if you are a SS fan from WWII... they also have amazing... Autumn and Fall Camos...
very hard to duplicate in 1/35th scale.... a must see !

Later guys !
