While waiting for paint to dry on the Mk. II I figured I would go ahead and start on my Luna pawn. I only have a few more days left of my vacation so I hope to get alot of modeling done. The sprues are almost identical to the Mk.II and once again there are no tubes, metal, or camo cards. Here is a look at the sprues.

Was curious to what these Wave Kits look like, I've only seen the original Nitto ones I'm working on.
I assume they don't give you the wire and springs because all are supposed to be tucked inside the joint covers. Atleast you do not have to sculpt those. No camo card sucks
Different visors are a nice touch.

You're doing a great job on the other Mk.II can't wait to see this one.
Thanks for posting

Started working on Luna...

Basic construction of the legs nothing too crazy just some basic seam filling

It's hard to see in this picture cause the part is white but if you look close you can see the seam line going right down the center of the part

Thought I'd show how I fill small seams Ill first cement the part together then I take my ca and dab a little right on the seam

Then I take my little tool I made with a nail and a dowel and spread the ca into the seam

I then zap it with some ca accelerator which dries the ca instantly then sand it smoothe works everytime

Started texturing by taking squadron green putty and thinning it down with lacquer thinner then stippling it on to the surface of the model I saw this same method used on a Plamo episode only they used tamiya putty Wich produced a similar effect

Since I haven't been a hobby shop in a few years (been working on my stash) I have never seen one of these kits. Are they poseable? Really sweet looking and I learned that you scan thin down squadron putty. I have really been outta the loop lol. Looking forward to seeing more.

Very interesting texture there

The effect is pretty dramatic but I think it gives the model a heavy cast iron look which I really like on these MaK kits

after a coat of rustoleum automobile gray primer I base coated Luna by airbrushing testers enamel flat white then I threw on the decals and started detail painting and weathering I'll handpaint everything else from here on out except for the final dull coat. I started making a little base out of some foam core

Looking really good there!!

ScarredKustoms: I don't know about the newer kits, like the one here. But the older ones came with polycaps so you could move the joints. But from what I have read, most glue the joints in place. Mainly because the joints tend to pop open if flexed too much.

If I am wrong one of you Ma. K. people can correct me.

A good source for the older kits is Ebay, but be patient. The price for a kit can go from $10 to $100 for the same kit. It all depends upon time.

Maybe I'll venture into a hobby shop sometime this week ... I need to see what new out there ... this kit is really cool to me.

Well all I have is a hobbytown USA so there is no way they would ever carry a kit like this I don't know about smaller localized hobby stores you might have some luck but the Internet is a sure thing and you can find better deals than what your lhs might offer

At Hobby Link Japn they have some Ma.K kits, some are on sale for about $18.00

Well finished this guy up once I get on a roll with painting and weathering it's hard hard for me to stop what I'm doing and take pictures
