i went with the decal couldnt get a good look with my brush my eyes must be going bad :'(

Is that piece of PE from an aftermarket set for these kits, or just something from the spares bin? I built a 1/72 VF-1D years ago, and I don't remember there being any brass in it.
 
Looks like a nasty seam along the leading edge of the wing there.
Paint's looking sharp, though
 
yes that needs to be fix just try out the paint first then going to work on that some sanding should work and a bit of putty and yes its a hasegawa kit import from japan so its been tricky but fun

It is such a nostalgia of my early childhood days when watching this your build..! :)
Coming along pretty nicely. There are some problematic spots to be fixed left, by overall You're doing a really good job with this fighter.
 
Thank you so much man I fell so old at times but when I set and work with macross on my tv playing I forget all about that I hope I have time to finish this and enter my others or a nice diarorma thus year
