USS Missouri

Well , that's his assessment .
Gas turbine wouldn't cut it at that tonnage .
Turbine electric maybe . Best to stick to steam turbines - either the old oil-fired or a nuke plant .
I'm guessing with tool-up and cost overruns the first one would end up costing 38 billion , lol

A brand new state of the art battleship would be pretty sweet though.. I know there's a lot of nay sayers out there saying we don't need something like an Iowa anymore but I say because no one has anything like it, it would be one more tool in are ass kicking arsenal

Yes something like this lol.. cause I mean come on now even in 2022 what US Navy sailor wouldn't want to fire a 9 gun broad side of 16" guns simultaneously full powder loads an all.. and even more so what modern navy would be ballsy enough to come with in range of that ship with hostile intentions

It would be better as a high speed , heavily armored missile carrier .
Like 1000 vertical launch tubes or something . lol

4 screws , each with it's own nuclear powerplant .
1300 feet long
