We can see bridges that now connect the 2 main lines. They are removable for access.

Installed decoder, painted yellow stripe.

Weathered, added the engineer, lift rings, horns, window shades, and LED front and rear headlights, which adds some realism to the model.

The throttle is DCC. Each locomotive has a decoder (IP). So this sort of means each Locomotive has its own engineer.

On the same track, I can run 2 engines in different directions and speeds.

Unlike the Christmas tree train, where the track voltage goes from 0 to 12VDC.

DCC has a constant track voltage, and the decoder uses bits of it to set the speed.

Unlike the Christmas tree train
...go figure! Clever.

Speaking of trains, I had a colleague who, as a kid, was thrilled when his dad offered to bring him to work on 'bring your kid to work day'... it soon turned to disappointment: "where's the train dad, I thought you were an engineer... all you have is tables and desks!" — true story.

That's pretty cool. Two different engines on the same track and different speeds? You got to like that
