Does anybody know what is in this? Someone on the net said it's just distilled water. The bottle I have does not list any ingredients. Also, I've been using it to thin my Tamiya acrylics, but would isopropyl alcohol work better?

I don't know if I would use it on Tamiya. Those paints are something different and not quite a true acrylic. I bet alcohol would work better. I don't know for sure, I usually just use the Tamiya thinner.

it's far from distilled water , it has a soapyness to it and the bottle says it contains glycerine, it smells a bit of ammonia to me. not sure what it is, but it works well with the MM acryls
Tamiya is a different type of acrylic alltogether

buy some Tamiya X-20A Thinner its cheap and lasts a long time its also great for fixing pigments

By "Universal" they mean it can be used accross all the Testors brand acrylics. Tamiya's own thinner is the best for thier paints. For a good (cheap) alternative, I use the stronger rubbing alcohol (95% ethanol) and a drop or 2 of liquitex flow aid.
