best acrylic red

what is the best acrylic red for coverage. i have found vallejo red to be very thin and looks awful even after 2 coats. any advice please, thanks

Hello and welcome. Depending on what red you are trying to achieve we will need more information. I have used vallejo vermilion red recently and very happy with the results. Primed with light grey then 3 airbrush coats of the red. Final coat of gloss varnish.

hi, i now realise my error being a novice. i am spraying over a bas coat of royal navy blue/grey. i think another one or two coats will be sufficient, hopefully. everything is ok in hindsight, yes?

Red is a very hard color to airbrush. White and Yellow even harder. The key in achieving red coverage is spray in SEVERAL light coats until you get the maximum coverage to your liking.
