I just started using the Tamiya thin glue the one with the green cap. I was wondering though, how am i supposed to apply it. Am i supposed to hold the two pieces together and then apply the adhesive to the seam? It seems like the glue wont hold to strong for the model. Thanks for the input.

Generally I apply to the seam using a small paint brush for better accuracy. Since it's not instant bond, you'll need to hold in place for 30secs or longer. Clamps/tape/wooden clothespin etc. make that an easier job.

I also use a drop of CA glue to hold in place, then add the Tamiya over the top.

In addition to applying the Tamiya extra thin the way Ian mentioned above, I find the Tamiya extra thin works the best if you leave a small (paper thin) gap, then capillary action will draw the solvent into the joint. Clamp/hold and you'll have a strong joint.
