Bring on the primer ;D.

Primed, (well mostly primed). Still lots of little bits not shown that I need to prime and paint.

I found a few spots on the nacelles that still have minor flaws, just debating more filling, sanding and priming.

Thanks for taking a look.

Thanks Adam. I added a little colour to it today - RLM 02 in the landing gear bays.

Is that a black primer? She looks so nice and clean.

Sorry for the late reply Glorfindel, I was going to answer your question and update the build tread, but my latest picture(s) of the build are not so good.

The primer is the Vallejo dark (panzer?) grey. I'm hoping to the use the primer as a pre-shade on the nearly black under belly.

Thanks Cargoman5126. I'm enjoying the build - I just progress at a glacial pace...

I've painted the wheel bays and I've started some of the shading and detail painting in those areas. Areas like the landing lights and such, have to be painted so I can install and then mask off the clear parts.

I've still to finish off painting the landing gear and the wheels. I hope to finish up the engine cowlings this week. Also I've still got to mask off some misc RLM 02 panels and air intakes.

Slow and steady J.

Looks great :)

Looking at the date of your post Rookie, slow and steady (ok-slow and sporadic) seems to my typical build style.
I've been away from the forums for a little while, and not much modelling has been happening by me, life has been really busy. This morning I did feel the urge to get back to the bench and build . I finished up some pre-shade I started over two months ago. I've also included a picture of my in progress painting of the landing gear.

Thanks for taking a look. Comments always welcome.

The RLM 76 base coat is done. I apologize about the poor photography, I haven't been bothered to set up my photo diffusion box or lights. I'm currently trying to decide if I should do the black under belly or the RLM 75 spots next...

Thanks Chris :) I've been keeping to steady progress this week, I started masking off the fuselage in preparation to spray the RLM 22 black. In hindsight I think I did the colours backwards, doing the black first would have saved me some effort. After the '22 I'll start painting the RLM 75 mottle spots - I expect that task will take a while.

On to your second comment;

Ha. Believe it or not, it's my stress ball. ;) A friend bought it for me as a gift, something of a running joke. I have in the past tried to remove it from the picture backgrounds, but often I forget if I'm in a rush to post a progress picture.

Thanks Chukw.

Anyways had lots of primer adhesion problems this week, not entirely sure why. I've painted the black, and just masking or adjusting tape would pull up small patches of primer. I had to go back and do a number of touch-ups. Even today I noticed that I still missed a few spots that I still have to go back and fix.

Here's a picture of my very messy masking job. The P-47 in the picture is the old Revell kit awaiting flat coat.

Here's after RLM 22 after first round of touch ups. I'll start the second round in a couple days. I also painted the base coats on a number of smaller parts today - but I forgot to include them in the picture.

Late next week I hope to get started on the top surface RLM 75 camouflage spots.
