Hey Modellers,

This is one of my shelf queens. :-[
I started this kit as one of my three 2013 BSC efforts. I just recently started in on it again - right now it's the queen I'm most likely to finish (although I'm still working on others behind the scenes).

I've added a CMK cockpit and wheel bay aftermarket parts to the build. In truth the cockpit is a mix of AM and Tamiya parts. The pictures below are just to get you up to speed, currently I've closed the models fuselage and glued the tail in place. The wings are built and I'm just about to re-scribe some panel lines that got either filled in or sanded away as I fought with closing the nacelles around the CMK wheel bays…

The cockpit was painted completely by hand.

Thanks for taking a look.

Jason

If you do pose the aircraft in flight pose it on a acrylic rod and not a cocktail stick ok LOL

Thanks Zappa. No big secret here; The seats are a mix of Tamiya kit parts and the CMK after market parts, the seat backs and belts came from the CMK set. I just painted them up with the good old Vallejo MC.

Not planning to use an acrylic cocktail stick or otherwise either, I've purchased a nice SAC white metal landing gear set from Scott Millican at ECH. The landing gear set is assembled, I'm just working on the seams. Most of the resin things are installed.

A few more update pictures;

What paint job are you thinking about?

Not entirely sure yet, initially I was thinking black belly with spots on top, but that could change...

Nice work on the cockpit, very detailed.

Thanks, the painting on the cockpit continues. I've assembled the Revi sight - had to modify the mounting because it didn't fit with the canopy, the armoured glass and the CMK armour plate mount… :p Fits now, but it's tight. I still have to add a few small parts to the cockpit (that's todays goal). Then I'll glue the clear parts in place. I think I'll order the Eduard masking set for the canopies - not looking forward to masking that greenhouse.

I finally finished describing the nacelles and the fuselage, so I was able to glue the wings in place. It's finally starting to look like an Uhu. Some of the smaller parts have been added also.

Stupid auto-correct. Not "describing" the nacelles, re-scribing the nacelles.

Thank Aaron. :)

Not much to update here, I'm fighting with trying to get a mix of the CMK and Tamiya parts to fit under the wind screen.

I think I'll try to order in a mask set for the canopy.

Crawling forward.

Shorter update than last time…
After much wrestling, I win and my He 219 cockpit is vanquished! ;D

Thanks Aaron, it was nice to finally see it fit together. I'm still working on the smaller sub-assemblies (landing gear mainly). I was hoping to paint soon, but I'm going to wait as I purchased an Eduard mask for this kit from ECH.

Hope to get some progress photos posted in the next couple weeks.

That gear can be tricky. I managed to get it together, but the whole time I felt like I needed three hands. :D

That pit is freakin awsome J stunning, well done so far this lookin forward to the rest

Thanks a bunch Aaron and Martay. ;D

I'm painting some of the smaller assemblies, because I'm waiting for my canopy mask set to arrive.

Hope to have a real update soon.

Time for a quick update.
The masking set I was waiting for arrived just after the New Year. I applied the Eduard mask last weekend, so close to priming now…

Thanks Glorfindel. I think it's one of my best efforts. :)
I had a super great modeling day, I managed to get most of the 219 primed. I'll post some pictures a little later, after the paint is dry enough that I can handle the 219 and photograph it.
