Did some post shading. Had some problems. First time I made the paint way too light and it looked stupid. Had to cover it up and start over. I was also too close to the model and I figured that out too. I still have a lot to learn. Pretty happy with how it turned out though.

After about 6-8 months of comiong back to the hobby, I was struggling with applying enamel/oil washes to acrylic paint. I figured it out eventually, but my Falcon was sorta the tipping point.
Always a drag when a kit goes south. I've got one sitting in a corner that I need to strip the paint off.

Did some post shading.
Looks fantastic!

I'm considering it but I'm afraid I'll do too much damage taking it off at this point.
Yeah, don't do it. I've made that mistake before and I regretted it.
I recently bought an F4-E (Phantom-II) just to make a T-bird. I agree with you wanting this Falcon to be straight.
It's priceless to me that the F-4 was used by demo teams. It was a flying brick lol.

Progress has come to a slow crawl. Every time I go to do something I break off the thin stick off the nose cone. I think its only purpose is to be broken off. Five times now. This in combination of breaking the propeller off my SBD two minutes before has me irritated.

What I do is replace such things with hypodermic tubing. For a tapering probe, use several tubes sleeved into each other. Coat with medium to thick superglue to create a smooth surface. These are anchored in the nose/wing/whatever by a solid block of styrene or Aves™ Apoxy-Sculpt. Much more durable—just be careful not to stab yourself.
